LAS VEGAS – Craig Bohl isn’t taking the bait.

Not now. Not ever.

He was not interested in hearing this little tidbit about Wyoming football history, but that doesn’t mean Logan Wilson and Cooper Rothe aren't intrigued.

“Really? I did not know that,” Wilson said. “Wow.”

If Wyoming beats Colorado State and Air Force this season – just like they have over the previous three years – this will be the first class of Cowboys to sweep their neighbors to the south four consecutive times.

“You’ll get to know me better,” Bohl joked, shaking his head. “I choose my words wisely.

“Throw a couple more baits at me.”

Let’s begin with the Air Force rivalry, which has been played every year since 1968.

The Falcons lead the overall series, 28-26. Air Force’s longest winning streak in the series is five, between 2006-10.

The CSU tilt has a bit more history.

The Rams hold a 58-47 advantage in the storied history of the Border War. Wyoming, however, has the edge when the Bronze Boot is on the line. The Cowboys have won the last three meetings, vaulting their lead to 27-24 since 1968.

And in that time, no other Cowboy player has won every game against them.

“It would mean a lot to not lose to our two closest rivals,” said Wilson, who grew up a Pokes fan in Casper. “As a Wyoming kid, you follow that kind of stuff. To be in the position we are in right now, it would be awesome if we could finish that off on a four-game win streak.”

Rothe’s grandfather went to CSU. He wanted him to go there, too. But they never came calling.

Rothe, a Longmont, Colo., product, said one of his goals was to never lose to the Rams during his college career. Adding Air Force to that mix just makes it sweeter.

“It would mean a lot,” Rothe said. “… Wyoming made me feel like I was home. So, I decided to make the best out of it.

“Hopefully we do it.”

Wyoming plays the Rams Nov. 22 at War Memorial Stadium, and will pay a visit to Colorado Springs the following week.
