COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., -- The Mountain West announced Wednesday that Cowgirl tennis student-athlete Noesjka Brink as the Mountain West Female Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The honor is the first of Brink’s career as she joins teammate Sophie Zehender as an athlete of the week selection in the league.

Brink, who helped lead Wyoming to its sixth and seventh consecutive wins to end the season this past weekend, went 2-0 in singles play and had a victory at No. 1 doubles in the two matches as the Cowgirls defeated Boise State, 4-1 and Utah State, 4-3.

Against the Broncos, Brink rallied to secure the match victory for the Cowgirls as she defeated Vanessa Timm, 4-6, 6-4 and 6-1 at the No. 4 singles position. Against USU, playing the No. 5 spot, Brink defeated Gabrielle Dekkers 6-4 and 6-2. Earlier in the day against the Aggies, Brink, along with partner Maria Oreshkina, won their doubles match, 6-4.

Brink completed the regular season leading the Cowgirls with a 12-4 record in singles competition and went 7-2 in Mountain West matches in 2021.
