LARAMIE -- The Cowboys second season starts tonight.

It's the Mountain West opener and the UNLV Rebels (1-2) are in town.

Craig Bohl has a record of 9-4 following a loss over the past three seasons. That bodes well for the Pokes. Vegas, the city -- not the team -- also loves Wyoming tonight.

These two squads have met 23 times all time. Wyoming (3-1) holds a slim 12-11 edge in the series. The Cowboys have won four of of the previous six meetings. You might recall the last one, a 69-66 UNLV win in Sin City. It took three overtimes and a miracle drive by Josh Allen and Co. just to get it to the first extra period.

There are just a few famous alumni who went to college in the desert. Check out this list:

Late night talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel, current prisoner, former music producer, Suge Knight, television food guru, Guy Fieri, rapper, Flo Rida, ESPN personality, Kenny Mayne, and Dan Reynolds, lead singer of Imagine Dragons.

There's also a pretty impressive list of athletes who once had Rebels across their chest:

Home run hitter, Cecil Fielder, hoopsters Greg Anthony, Stacey Augmon, Larry Johnson and Reggie Theus, former NFL stars Randall Cunningham, Keenan McCardell and Ickey Woods, and current Hawaii head football coach, Nick Rolovich.
