LARAMIE -- The Cowboys hit the road once again facing Santa Clara in the Sports Tours Showdown on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mountain Time at Salt Lake Community College.

It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1953.

The contest will be streamed on FLOSports with Trey Bender on the call.

Fans can listen to the watch the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The contest will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network as Keith Kelley will have the call with Kevin McKinney on color.

About The Teams

The Cowboys head into the contest with a 3-3 overall record. The Pokes are averaging 72.5 points per game and allow 67.3 points per night. Wyoming is shooting 44 percent from the field and is allowing the opposition to shot 44 percent. UW is hitting 9.3 triples per game to rank second in the Mountain West and No. 47 in the nation.

The Cowboys are grabbing 35 rebounds per game. The Wyoming bench is adding 29 points per game for third in the conference and No. 61 in the nation.

The Broncos head into the contest with a 5-2 overall record and winners of two-straight after defeating Iona in Las Vegas on Saturday by a score of 85-76.

Santa Clara also owns wins over Eastern Washington, Georgia Southern, DePaul and Menlo. Its losses have come to Utah State and UCF. The Broncos are shooting 40 percent from the field and allow opponents to shoot 41 percent.

Santa Clara records 72.1 points per game and is allowing 67.9 per contest.

About The Players

The Pokes are led in scoring by Hunter Maldonado at 14.7 points per game. However, the senior reportedly did not make the trip to Salt Lake City after suffering a head injury against Boston College in the finale of the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Maldonado became Wyoming’s all-time leader in games played at 134 after the last contest. He also adds 4.7 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists.

Max Agbonkpolo adds 9.6 points per game. Ethan Anderson nets 8.7 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds. He also adds 3.2 assists per game. He is shooting 54 percent from the field on the season. Hunter Thompson leads the team, grabbing 4.8 rebounds per game and adds 6.8 points.

Santa Clara is led in scoring by Brandin Podziemski, as he adds a double-double with 19.9 points per game and 10 rebounds. He is shooting 42 percent from behind the arc this season. Carlos Marshall Jr. adds 10 points per game on the season with three rebounds per night.

Keshawn Justice adds 9.1 points per game and is second on the team with 19 assists.

About The Series

Wyoming and Santa Clara will meet for the fourth time and the first since 1953 on Wednesday. The Cowboys trail the all-time series and are 0-3 with two of those meetings coming in the NCAA Tournament.

Every contest between these two teams has come on a neutral floor.
