
Cowgirls remain in 10th after second day at Moore Invitational
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo., – The University of Wyoming women’s golf team used another solid day of play at the Denver Ron Moore Invitational to remain in a tie for tenth after the second day of play.
Meghan Vogt sits in a tie for 12th heading into the final day of the tournament.
“The conditions today were much tougher so I am very pleased with our result and ability to adapt to the course,” Head Women’s Golf Coach Josey Stender said. “Meghan’s round was fantastic. She is a real student of the game and has a solid awareness of her strengths and weaknesses. Tomorrow is another day of sticking to our process, game plan and being disciplined.”

Vogt continued her streak of impressive and consistent play as she matched her first-round score posting a 72 (E) in in the second round and is currently tied for 12th amongst a very competitive field. Fellow freshman Kyla Wilde shot a 82 (+10) in the second round of play and is currently tied for 53rd. Samantha Hui and Jessica Zapf both shot a second round of 76 (+4) and are both tied for 58th heading into the third round. Rounding out the Cowgirl lineup, Morgan Ryan is also tied for 58th after two rounds.
In the team standings, the Cowgirls are tied for tenth with Tulane and Colorado State with ninth place Hawaii just one stroke ahead of the Cowgirls heading into the third round. The final day of play will give the cowgirls to compete for their second top ten finish of the season. East Tennessee State continues to lead the field with a two-round team score of 567 (-9)
Cristiana Ciasca led the group of Cowgirls playing as individuals shooting a second round of 75 (+3) and finishing the day tied for 75th. Michelle Nguyen shot a 83 (+11) and is currently tied for 79th. Rounding out the individuals Rachel Stoinski and Riley McDole are currently tied for 83rd and 87th respectively.
The Cowgirls will conclude the tournament tomorrow with the third and final round of play set to tee off at 9 a.m. MT.
