The Minnesota native was a three-time All-Mountain West Conference player and team captain for the Cowboys, graduating in 2003 with a degree in finance from UW’s College of Business. He played nine seasons in the National Football League for the Minnesota Vikings and the St. Louis Rams, including his last five seasons as the team’s representative to the NFL Players Association.

While playing in the NFL, Goldberg assembled a small personal portfolio of residential investment properties in Laramie. This sparked a passion for real estate investment that carried him into his post-NFL professional career. Goldberg retired from the NFL after the 2011 season.

In 2012, Goldberg partnered with Don Berland at Berland Development Group (BDG) in Denver, Colo. BDG specialized in the development of new multifamily real estate projects in Colorado and Wyoming. Goldberg took the lead in the capitalization and development of Park Place Olde Town, a five-story, 153-unit apartment project in historic Olde Town Arvada, Colo.

Goldberg and his business partner, Jarrett Primm, have guided GBV to over $400 million of real estate transaction volume consisting of over 2,600 residential units. Goldberg has been a steward to over $120 million of equity capital invested by a myriad of investors.

In 2020, Goldberg joined with the UW Foundation to invest in one of GBV’s largest acquisitions.

In the past five years, Goldberg has been inducted into the UW Athletics Hall of Fame, established a family endowment fund at UW and created a real estate investment course that he still teaches at UW alongside Associate Professor Mac Festa.

Goldberg and his wife, Angela, have four sons. When he is not working with his GBV team or working with his counterparts at UW, Goldberg coaches six youth sports teams and enjoys traveling, fitness training, hiking, mountain biking and culinary experiences.
