
Greenwood named Big XII Wrestler of the Week
IRVING, Texas – Coming off a top ten upset and a first-place finish at the Cowboy Open, Job Greenwood has been named the Big 12 wrestler of the week. The 133-pound redshirt Sophomore defeated All-American and No. 8 ranked Michael McGee of Arizona State to capture the Cowboy Open title.
“It feels really good to put a match together like that and come away with a win,” Greenwood said. “My mindset during the match was to not get flustered and score next and win.”

Starting the tournament unranked, Greenwood went 2-0 to start the day picking up a hard-fought win over Arizona State's Julian Chlebove in the semifinals.
The finals would be a back and forth match that saw Greenwood and No. 8 McGee tied 6-6 with time winding down in the third period. Greenwood would make the decisive move scoring a reversal with time running out to stun McGee and earn the 8-7 victory.
For Greenwood, it was one of the biggest wins of his career marking the third time he has defeated a top-20 ranked wrestler and the first time in his career his has defeated a top ten ranked wrestler.
He improves his record to 8-1 on the season.
It is also the first time in his career that Greenwood has earned the Big 12 weekly honor and he is the first Cowboy to earn the honors since Hayden Hastings earned it a season ago.
Greenwood and the rest of the Cowboy squad will no travel to Las Vegas, Nevada Dec. 3 – Dec. 4 for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
