LARAMIE -- Seventeen former Wyoming football players took part in modified NFL training camps this fall.

Thirteen of them made opening-day rosters.

While it is no surprise that Josh Allen will line up under center in Orchard Park, New York, and nine-year veteran Tashaun Gipson will roam the defensive backfield in the Windy City, other former Pokes weren't exactly locks to make the final cut.

Linebacker Cassh Maluia was waived Saturday by the New England Patriots. The sixth-round draft pick in 2020 joined former teammate Tyler Hall, who was also cut by the Atlanta Falcons. Tyree Mayfield is no longer with the 49ers and Gillette native Austin Fort did not make the Broncos' 53-man roster. Fort suffered a knee injury early in camp and Saturday was put on injured reserve by the team.

Here are the guys who will suit up next week:

QB, Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

NT, Mike Purcell, Denver Broncos

S, Tashaun Gipson Sr., Chicago Bears

LB, Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals

RB, Brian Hill, Atlanta Falcons

OL, Chase Roullier, Washington Football Team

TE, Jacob Hollister, Seattle Seahawks

WR, Rico Gafford, Las Vegas Raiders

S, Marcus Epps, Philadelphia Eagles

S, Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars

DE, Eddie Yarbrough, Minnesota Vikings

DE, Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints

LB, Mark Nzeocha, San Francisco 49ers

Some of these guys are not only on the roster, many are listed as starters heading into the 2020 campaign: Purcell, Roullier and Allen.
