Buffalo Bills Missing Major Players Before MNF Showdown With LA Rams
The Buffalo Bills have a huge challenge this week on their schedule. They have to take on the high-powered LA Rams, and if practice is any indication, they could be without some big-name players to do it.
The Bills have a long list of injuries this week
One of the toughest things for a team to do is to overcome injuries. In many cases, injuries are unavoidable, so when they happen, the next man up has to step into that role. The problem is that a roster only has so many men.
This week, the injury list looks pretty scary. There were 14 names listed.
Keep in mind, anytime a player has treatment on anything, they are listed on this report. So, even if it's not terribly serious, they still have to be listed.
The concern comes from their participation in practice. When they are listed as "DNP" or "limited" that means that at the very least, their availability in practice was limited.
DJ Moore and Ed Oliver are still dealing with nagging injuries
Wide receiver DJ Moore is one of the biggest x-factors in this upcoming game. The Bills are just a different team when he's on the field. So, to be without him will be a problem for the Bills. However, if he's not healthy enough to go, it's better to sit him and let him get healthy than it is to use a spot on the active roster for him if he's only going to be able to make it through half of the game. You don't want him to keep re-aggravating it.
Ed Oliver is another concern. He's listed on the report with a knee injury. He's another player that teams have to account for on the defensive line. If he's there, it makes it much harder for teams to double-team Deone Walker because they have to account for Oliver.
Neither of them practiced today.
Also out of practice for the Buffalo Bills on Friday
Cornerback Dee Alford was also out of practice today as he rests his ankle injury. Christian Benford and Landon Jackson were both limited, which is actually good news. The Bills could certainly use Benford on the field this week as they face down Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, and for Jackson to just be limited is good too. When he went down on Sunday, it looked like he was going to be out for much longer.
The official injury report will come out tomorrow
Normally we get injury reports on Friday afternoons when the Bills play on Sunday. However, because they don't play until Monday night this week, they have a little extra time. The injury report will be due by 4pm on Saturday afternoon this week.
