Three-Star Commit No Longer on Wyoming Football Roster
LARAMIE -- Wyoming's 2026 high school recruiting class sat at 20 when the calendar flipped to December.
That number is now 19.
"Kanye Anderson will not be a part of Cowboy football," a team source said Monday, refusing to share specifics about why the three-star cornerback from Texas is no longer with the program.

Anderson, who was initially committed to Stephen F. Austin before flipping to UW, will instead head to Trinity Valley Community College (Texas), according to a social media post from his mother, Kisha Judge. The all-district performer at Lewisville High School also received offers from New Mexico, Missouri State, Sacramento State and Sam Houston State. Oregon State, North Texas and Baylor also showed interest.
Anderson is not currently listed on the Trinity Valley roster.
Wyoming head coach Jay Sawvel said in early December Anderson was a late commit, making his ultimate decision the day before national signing day. Austin Maus, the team's Director of Player Personnel, said they discovered the 6-foot-1, 165-pound defensive back at a TCU football camp the previous May.
"He's a very long, rangy corner who's got physicality, which is hard to find," he added, saying Anderson also ran a 4.57-second 40-yard dash during his summer showcase. "... He's got some real speed, and you just can't teach his size and frame."
Sawvel and Co. emphasized the need at that position this offseason, inking two experienced corners: Junus McGraw (West Liberty) and Logan Mackey (Weber State). Kendall Griffin, who joined the program as an early enrollee in January, was also a member of the '26 recruiting class after a standout career at Morgan Park High School in Chicago, the same school that produced wide receivers Chris Durr Jr. and PJ Jackson.
Wyoming needs to replace both starters. Dainsus Miller, who spent just one season in Laramie after transferring from Mercer, exhausted his eligibility. Tyrese Boss entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in January and is now at the University of Arizona. His backup, Markie Grant, also hit the market and is on the roster at Utah State.
