Wyoming is looking to get the taste of a 48-7 lopsided setback at Arizona State out of its collective mouth. It will have it's chance today in sun-splashed Laramie against an Idaho squad that fell by just 10 points last Saturday at No. 3 Oregon.

Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on TruTV.

PREGAME:

* Cheyenne's own Andrew Johnson will make his first-career start today for the Cowpokes. He will be filling in for strong safety Isaac White, who Jay Sawvel said was "dinged" in Tempe.

* Tight end John Michael Gyllenborg (high ankle) will miss his second-straight start. Edge rusher DeVonne Harris (elbow) and Nate Geiger (knee) are also on the shelf with injuries. Running back Harrison Waylee (knee) is also still recovering from offseason surgery and could miss the next two games, per Sawvel.

* Could we see Dawaiian McNeely today for the first time since 2022. That's a good possibility. The senior running back suffered a torn ACL in fall camp and missed the entire '23 campaign.

* Wyoming is rocking its new third uniform combo today: Gold tops, brown pants

* Ran into former linebacker Easton Gibbs out in the parking lot. He had a wild offseason, spending time with both Seattle and Pittsburgh in NFL camps.

* This is the 400th game inside this building. It is also a sellout. The last time that happened was against Nebraska in 2011.

* Hearing there is a huge wreck on I-80 eastbound. Fans have been stuck for hours.

FIRST QUARTER:

* Big gainer by Svoboda around the edge. Nice start for the junior signal caller. That was good for 37

* Five straight rushes to start this one. Think the Pokes want to establish the run?

* Hoyland is on to attempt a 48-yard field goal here. Pokes have to burn a timeout because there was only 10 guys on the field ...

* FIELD GOAL: Hoyland with a boomer from 48 out. Nice to see that. Cowboys have their first lead of the season. That was Hoyland's 59th-career FG. That ties him with Cooper Rothe for most all time. That was a 6-play, 44-yard drive that took 2:10. Wyoming 3 Idaho 0 12:50/ 1Q

* That looked like a Wyoming defense right there. Idaho manages a single yard on three snaps. Here comes the punt team.

* I know this isn't ASU's offense, but the Pokes' D was swarming right there. Gang tackling on every snap. They look a lot faster today. Suiaunoa even threw an extra shove at the end. That unit has pride and it was probably a really long week. Pokes ball at the Vandals' 48

* TURNOVER: Snap flies right over Evan Svoboda's head, Idaho recovers at the UW 38.

* Idaho's Cummings find the end zone from a yard out. Vandals turn an avoidable mistake into 6. That was a 7-play, 37-yard drive that took 3:57. Idaho 7 Wyoming 3 6:36/ 1Q

* 2004 Las Vegas Bowl champs being honored on the field right now. Great memory. Bramlet to Wadkowski.

* TK King damn near breaks one right there. He turned on the jets about 4 yards deep in the end zone. Gets the ball out to the 28. He breaks one tackle and he's gone.

* TOUCHDOWN: Svoboda to Boddie on a beautiful 21-yard pitch and catch. QB1 stood tall and hit his speedy WR in stride. That was a 9-play, 72-yard drive that took 4:23 off the clock. Pokes back on top. First-career TD toss for Svoboda. Wyoming 10 Idaho 3 2:06/ 1Q

* Jack Wagner, who is making his first-career start in this one, is 5-5 for 51 yards. Lots of quick passes, but Wyoming virtually has zero pass rush going early on.

SECOND QUARTER:

* Could be a big false-start penalty on the Vandals right there. They were facing a 3rd-and-goal from the 1. Right guard Charlie Vliem the guilty party

* Idaho lining up to go for it here on a 4th-and-goal at the 3. Why not? Wyoming 10 Idaho 3 11:38/ 2Q

* Jay Cox hauls in the 3-yard touchdown catch. Great play call right there. Big tight end crosses the formation, getting lost in the bodies. That was a 10-play, 75-yard drive that took 5:33 off the clock. Wagner is 7-7 for 55 yds and a TD Wyoming 10 Idaho 14 11:33/ 2Q

* Vandals are 2-2 on fourth down today. Both resulted in touchdowns. Eck being aggressive with a young starter under center. Wagner has been sharp. Wyoming has helped by not breathing on him

* DJ Jones rips off a 17-yard gainer. Pokes starting to make hay on the ground here. Idaho 14 Wyoming 10 9:20/ 2Q

* Hoyland misses a 53-yard attempt wide right. Idaho will take over at the 36. Idaho 14 Wyoming 10 8:23/ 2Q

* There's Wagner's first incompletion of the afternoon. Holding call, though, will scratch that one. The redshirt freshman is 8-8 for 70 yards and a TD.

* Wagner's first incomplete pass of the afternoon flew right over the head of a WIDE OPEN Dwyer. Here's comes a 49-yard FG attempt

* Idaho tacks on three more points. The visitors, led by a back-up QB, have 150 yards of total offense and have found the end zone twice. Idaho 17 Wyoming 10 4:40/ 2Q

* Pokes bring in Sam Scott to play lead back for Svoboda there. First down.

* Refs just let Svoboda get lit up on an offside call. No whistles blown. Surprised Sawvel didn't bust a spring right there

 * Idaho stops the Cowboys on a 4th-an-1 at the Vandals' 35. Why do you screw around with a shotgun snap instead of lining it up and hammering down with your huge QB. Bad call, bad execution. That likely cost this team points.
* With under a minute to go, Idaho airs it out. WR was there. Throw wasn't. Love the aggressiveness of this Idaho offense.

THIRD QUARTER:

* Boo birds are starting to chirp. Here comes the punt team. Svoboda is 5-of-13 for 47 yards and a TD. Idaho 17 Wyoming 10 11:41/ 3Q

* Believe it or not, Idaho is now 0-7 on third down. Fourth down on the other hand ... Big drive ahead for Svoboda and Co. Idaho 17 Wyoming 10 8:56/ 3Q

* Svoboda gets sacked and loses the ball on third down. Wyoming recovers. Barnett beat around the right side. Pokes will punt

* Tyrecus Davis about to get hit with his second PI of the afternoon. The ball was way overthrown, too.

* TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Idaho with the fake punt attempt. Wyoming stops them short. Pokes will take over at the 50.

* Svoboda with a big gainer right there. Finds a wide open Will Pelissier. UW in biz at the Idaho 12

* TOUCHDOWN: Svoboda gets the ball over the white stripe. There's some grit on a 3rd-and-goal from the three. Big 38-yard pass play sparked that one. Andrew Johnson and Connor Shay credited with the stop on the fake punt. Wyoming 17 Idaho 17 1:27/ 3Q

* Knee was indeed down. Pokes ball on the 1. Here comes the yellow flags. Driskill hit with a false start ... man

* Svoboda fires an incomplete pass -- like not even kind of close to anyone -- and the Pokes go from thinking they have six to a FG attempt. Wow. One quarter to go in Laramie

FOURTH QUARTER:
* FIELD GOAL: Hoyland hammers through a chip shot from 22 yards out. Huge missed opportunity there for the Cowpokes. Idaho 17 Wyoming 13 14:57/ 4Q
* Wyett Ekeler on an edge blitz wraps up Wagner for a big loss on 3rd and 1. Big time play from the Pokes' safety. Idaho will punt here ... we think
* Wagner and the Vandals offense is coming back out/ 4th-and-6 from the 39
* TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Keany Parks locks up his man, throw was behind him any way. Pokes take over that their own 39. Idaho 17 Wyoming 13 12:46/ 4Q

* 25,070 in attendance for the 400th game inside War Memorial Stadium. Pokes need to give them a reason to get off their hands now.

* Sabastian Harsh finally breaks through and picks up the sack. Big 3rd-and-14 right here.

* 5:00 left in this one. Pokes at the Idaho 48. Idaho 17 Wyoming 13

* That drive was unspeakably bad. Just atrocious. I’m in the field, zero juice on UW’s sideline … again.

Wyoming has 24 seconds and 78 yards to go. Zero timeouts. Need a miracle, obviously
