LARAMIE -- Impossible? No.

Likely? Absolutely not.

This matchup is every bit David vs. Goliath. Shaq vs. Muggsy Bogues. Andre the Giant vs. Mini Me.

Boise State, the 12th-ranked team in the nation, is on the fast track to the initial 12-team College Football Playoff. Not only are they likely to crash the party, the Broncos could receive a bye and even host a game on The Blue.

Can you imagine Alabama playing inside Albertsons Stadium? Georgia? Notre Dame? Anyone?

A major reason why is Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty, who more than likely will eclipse the 2,000-yard rushing mark tonight inside War Memorial Stadium. A win tonight will also vault the Broncos into the Mountain West title game for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.

Two-win Wyoming limps into this home finale with a laundry list of injuries. Running back Sam Scott and defensive tackle Jordan Bertagnole are both on the shelf with lower-leg ailments. Offensive guard Wes King and edge rushers Sabastian Harsh and Braden Siders are out, too.

Not ideal.

If the Cowboys can pull off the miracle of all miracles tonight on the high plains, it will technically be the second-biggest upset in the program's history. That 1972 victory over Danny White and the 11th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils is still the standard.

Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. and the game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

PREGAME:

* Wyoming running back Sam Scott is out tonight against Boise State, per UW. So is senior defensive tackle, Casper native Jordan Bertagnole. Both lower-body injuries.

* The Cowboys are rocking the traditional threads in this one: White helmet, brown jersey, gold pants. Boise State, a team known for its plethora of uniform combos, is in all white with a blue lid.

* John Michael Gyllenborg missed the Colorado State game with a shoulder/ collarbone injury. He's dressed tonight and appears ready to go. Read about his scary situation HERE.

* Harrison Waylee, as you know by now, carried the ball just eight times for 15 yards last Friday night in Fort Collins. Expect the senior running back to have a major role in this one, as Jay Sawvel hopes to "drag" this game out. You can read about the Waylee drama HERE.

* Wyoming is expected to say goodbye to 17 seniors tonight: Alex Brown, Caleb Driskill, Will Pelissier, DeVonne Harris, Nofoafia Tulafono, Nick Miles, Caleb Cooley, Tyrecus Davis, Jamari Ferrell, Jordan Bertagnole, Connor Shay, Shae Suiaunoa, Wyett Ekeler, Isaac White, Kimball Madsen, Jack Culbreath and the school's all-time leading scorer John Hoyland.

* This has obviously been an awful season for the Pokes inside this building, however, the weather this year might be the best it's ever been in my lifetime. It's currently 46 degrees and the wind, for now, is not a factor.

* Casper's own Jordan Bertagnole announced first tonight. What a career for the former walk-on. Will never forget his debut at Nevada in 2020 and scrambling through the roster and asking, "Who the hell is that guy? ... And how do you pronounce that name?"

* Cornerback Tyrecus Davis was not introduced during the pregame ceremony. Not sure why? He played three years at Navarro (TX) -- one didn't count (Covid) -- and two seasons here. He was out on the field for warmups

FIRST QUARTER:

* Boise State defender with a blatant pass interference right there. No flag. Brutal non-call. Pokes facing a 3rd and 5 at the Broncos' 37

* *FIELD GOAL* John Hoyland booms through a 54-yard field goal to give the Cowboys an early 3-0 lead. Anderson with a nice 20-yard connection with Durr on the opening snap. Waylee looks good. Great start. Missed PI hurt Wyoming 3 Boise State 0 11:43/ 1Q

* That was a seven-play, 38-yard opening drive for the Pokes that took 3:17 off the clock.

* Shae Suiaunoa just met Ashton Jeanty in the hole ... and won. Really nice play by the senior linebacker.

* Tyrecus Davis with a really nice tackle on Jeanty. Boise State will attempt a field goal

* Dalmas just missed a 49-yard field goal wide left. Couldn't ask for a better start to this one for the Cowpokes. Dalmas, you might recall, has been a thorn in Wyoming's side for years. Rare miss. Wyoming 3 Boise State 0 9:20/ 1Q

* Logan Wilson and his family being introduced to the crowd. I know, I know ... wish he could suit up. Don't we all. Nice round of applause for the Casper product and current Cincinnati Bengals linebacker

* Jamari Ferrell is running hard tonight. He just had an impressive nine-yard run that could've been a loss. The senior just scampered for a first down. Great blocking up front

* Hoyland misses from 53 yards out and the Broncos will take over at the 37. Wyoming 3 Boise State 0 4:26/ 1Q

* We knew it was coming at some point. Ashton Jeanty to the house. Great blocking up front and the junior took care of the rest from 61 yards out. Dude is special

* Right tackle Caden Barnett down on the play. Not a lot of experience remaining on that battered offensive line.

* Kaden Anderson just got smoked. But before he did, he dropped a dime to Jaylen Sargent for 31 yards. Pokes at the Boise State 16

SECOND QUARTER:

* Jamari Ferrell with a beauty of a run, capped by a hurdle. That was a 3rd-and-14. It's 4th-and-1

* Boise State, of course, holds on 4th-and-1. It's been that kind of year. May goodness. Broncos take over at their own 7.

* Jeanty with 30 more yards on two carries and the Broncos are already at the 40. He has 98 yards on just six attempts

* Pokes are going to force a punt here. Why Boise State is even throwing the ball right now is insane. No. 2 is putting in work.

* Kaden Anderson showing some wheels. Nice run for the redshirt freshman QB. That's good for 24. Pokes at the Broncos' 43

* Sargent with a contested catch at the 2-yard line. That kid has been unreal late in the season. That was good for 41.

* *TOUCHDOWN* Anderson to Stevenson. That's a 5-yard pitch and catch. What a drive. Wyoming, folks, has a QB. Hate to be that guy ... but imagine if they picked up a single bleeping yard on the last drive??? That was 4-play, 67 yards, 2:18. Wyoming 10 Boise State 7 9:36/ 2Q

* Great coverage on that third down. Suiaunoa is bringing the lumber tonight. Just popped Madsen. Here comes the Broncos' punt team again

* Suiaunoa is playing lights out tonight. He comes on the inside blitz and brings Madsen down for a big loss. Here comes the Broncos' punt team

* 0-4. That's Boise State's third-down conversion rate so far in this one.

* We're at the 2-minute warning in Laradise. Pokes need to make hay on this drive. So many issues late in halves this fall.

* Broncos will get the ball back with plenty of time on the clock -- 1:45 -- and two timeouts. This drive will start at their own 43

* DeVonne Harris with a big sack. Boise State now facing a 3rd-and-goal at the 12. Wyoming entered this one with nine sacks as a team. That's already two big ones in the first half.

* Wyoming is going to force a chip-shot field goal here. What a stand. Boise State had the ball 1st-and-goal at the five.

* We are all tied up at the break after that 24-yard FG from Dalmas. Can't ask for a much better half from the underdogs. They left some plays out there, but we have a ball game at the break. Wyoming 10 Boise State 10 HALFTIME

THIRD QUARTER:

* Ashton Jeanty just limped off the field. Keep an eye on that

* Wyoming's defense is going to force a punt here on Boise State's first drive of the second half.

* Evan Svoboda is in at QB. Heard Kaden Anderson was flexing his non-throwing hand on the sideline.

* UW official confirms, Kaden Anderson is in concussion protocol and is currently being evaluated

* Wyoming tallies its third sack of the night ... but it's called an offside. Boise State now facing a 3rd-and-3 at UW's 34

* *TURNOVER ON DOWNS* Great coverage by Wrook Brown on that fourth-down incompletion. Maddux Madsen is just 12-of-20 for 135 yards so far. Wyoming 10 Boise State 10 6:33/ 3Q

* Hearing fans scream "We want Anderson!" below us in the press box. Absolutely stunning. Truly.

FOURTH QUARTER:

* Boise State will punt again. That's five on the night to go along with a turnover on downs. Bang up job by this Wyoming defense tonight

* Wow! Svoboda connects with Stevenson on a long gainer on a 3rd-and-8. Pokes at the 23.

* That was a 63-yard hook up from Svoboda to Stevenson

* *FIELD GOAL* Hoyland with a 35-yarder to give the Cowboys the lead. That was a 7-play, 70-yard drive that chewed up 4:25. Wyoming 13 Boise State 10 9:03/ 4Q

* On my way down to the field. You may have heard … Jeanty is back in the ball game. Broncos with an impressive drive. Boise State 17 Wyoming 13

* Svoboda sacked on 4th down. Boise State will take over at the UW 30. Pokes have one timeout. Boise State 17 Wyoming 13 1:52/ 4Q

* *TURNOVER ON DOWNS* 14 ticks remaining.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
