LARAMIE -- The Walter Camp Football Foundation announced on Thursday evening its 2021 All-America teams in connection with The Home Depot College Football Awards Show.

Wyoming linebacker Chad Muma was named to this year’s Walter Camp All-America Second Team, making him one of only six linebackers nationally named to this year’s first or second team and one of only 52 total players in the country named to the two teams.

The 132nd edition of the Walter Camp All-America teams are presented by 777 Partners. The Walter Camp All-America team is the oldest All-America team in the nation. The team is selected by all 130 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) head coaches and 130 sports information directors.

The linebackers selected to this year’s Walter Camp All-America teams were: Will Anderson (Alabama), Nakobe Dean (Georgia) and Devin Lloyd (Utah) on the First Team; and Muma (Wyoming), Damone Clark (LSU) and Leo Chenal (Wisconsin) on the Second Team.

Earlier this year, Muma was selected as one of six finalists for the prestigious Butkus Award. The Butkus Award honors the nation’s best linebackers in the nation.

Muma is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation in solo tackles (6.7 per game) for the 2021 season and is ranked No. 4 in the nation in total tackles (10.8 per game). He is also tied for No. 2 in the nation in interceptions returned for touchdowns, with two pick sixes on the season. He recorded double figures in tackles in 10 of 12 regular- season games in 2021. Muma has recorded 129 tackles this season.

Muma and his Cowboy teammates will play in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 21 in Boise, Idaho, where they will face the Kent State Golden Flashes.

He has also been invited to participate in this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl, which will be played Saturday, Feb. 5 in Mobile, Ala.
