Numerous Cowboys Named to Preseason All-Conference Teams

LARAMIE -- The Cowboy Football season is right around the corner and a pair of national publications released their preseason All-Mountain West squads as numerous Cowboys were named to the teams by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.

The publications named 15 different Cowboys to preseason honors.

Athlon Sports released its team, and 15 Cowboys were named to the squad with eight players on defense and six on offense with one special teamer.

Defensive tackle Jordan Bertagnole, linebacker Shae Suiaunoa and safety Wyett Ekeler were named to the First Team defense. Defensive ends DeVonne Harris and Sabastian Harsh and safety Isaac White to the second team. Nickel Wrook Brown was named to the Third Team and Tyrecus Davis on the Fourth Team.

The offense was highlighted by running back Harrison Waylee, tight end John Michael Gyllenborg and Nofoafia Tulafono named to the First Team offense. Offensive lineman Jack Walsh and Wes King to the Second Team with offensive lineman Caden Barnett on the fourth Team.

Kicker John Hoyland was named All-MW Fourth Team as a specialist.

Phil Seele also named his teams with Waylee and Gyllenborg earning a spot on the First Team offense. On the First Team defense from Steele, Bertagnole and Suiaunoa earned spots. Second Team honors on offense went to Walsh with Harsh and Ekeler earning second team honors.

Davis Earned Third Team defense and Hoyland earned Fourth Team honors as a specialist.
