Cody Tucker and Jared Newland don't breakdown the hiring of Jay Sawvel, the 33rd head coach in Wyoming football history, either.

Why?

This edition of the Roaring Repeater Podcast was recorded the day before all of that news broke ... of course. Plus, I'll be honest, I got a tad busy over the last 24 hours and forgot to post it. I'm sorry.

We have plenty of coverage from all the happenings in Laramie right here:

Jay Sawvel's marching orders at Wyoming: 'Win a championship'

Tuck's Take: Good ride, Cowboy. Good ride

But you're going to have to wait on the next show to hear it from our mouths.

We do, however, talk plenty about the Cowboys upcoming meeting with Toledo in the Arizona Bowl, how the NCAA Transfer Portal is shaking out for this team and an 18-deep recruiting class that, according to the new head man, is still in tact. We also touch on Jeff Linder's basketball team, which won its fifth game of the season Tuesday night over visiting South Dakota Mines. That's just four wins short of what this team accomplished all of last year.

Here are the stories from that 80-59 victory over the Hardrockers:

* Tuck's Take: Turnovers a troubling theme for new-look UW roster

* Shorthanded Cowboys surge past Mines in second half, win 80-59

Please forgive us for our tardiness. We will record a new episode ASAP.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
