LARAMIE -- I've always said sports is the ultimate reality TV. You can't wait to see what happens next ... and it's actually real life.

That certainly has once again been the case with the University of Wyoming football program.

Since the final whistle blew in that blowout inside Mackay Stadium, six players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, the team was given its bowl assignment, the longest-tenured head coach in school history decided to hang it up and moments later defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel was promoted and will take over for Craig Bohl following the Arizona Bowl Dec. 30 in Tucson.

That's not all.

Offensive coordinator Tim Polasek hit the dusty trail. He is now the head coach at North Dakota State, a place he previously spent a decade and won four national titles. Aaron Bohl, son of the old ball coach, was elevated from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator on Wednesday, the same day the program welcomed 26 new commits on early signing day.

Oh, and Evan Svoboda has been named QB1 heading into the offseason, eliminating all whispers -- for now -- of who will replace Andrew Peasley under center.

Sawvel and Co. are still in need of a play caller and quarterbacks coach. He said that hire won't happen until at least early January. Same goes for a safeties coach. Sawvel needs to find his own replacement in the secondary.

Could there be even more movement with the current staff? We'll see.

Cody Tucker and Jared Newland break it all down right here on the latest edition of the Roaring Repeater Podcast. You can find that right HERE.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
