LARAMIE -- The Cowboys close out the home portion of the non-conference schedule on Saturday hosting Weber State at 7 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium.

It is the first meeting between the two schools since 2005 and the seventh meeting overall.

Wyoming is 6-3 on the season after defeating Stephen F. Austin last Saturday by a score of 78-70. The Cowboys are 4-0 at home this season. The Pokes lead the nation this season shooting 43.3 percent from behind the arc.

Weber State heads into the contest with a 5-4 overall record after falling to Nevada on the road by a score of 72-55 on Wednesday. Weber State is averaging 71.3 points per game and are allowing 60 points per contest.

The Wildcats are shooting 42.1 percent from the field with opponents shooting 43.3 percent. The Wildcats average 8.1 three pointers per game on the season and are shooting 33 percent.

 

About The Players

Wyoming is led in scoring by guard Sam Griffin at 19.0 points per game to rank third in the conference and No. 53 in the nation. He is shooting 52 percent from behind the arc this season to lead the MW and rank fifth in the nation.

Akuel Kot adds 15.1 points per game on the season for No. 11 in the MW.

Cam Manyawu adds 10.7 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per night. He has five double-doubles on the season for second in the conference and ninth in the nation.

Weber State is led by one of the top players in the Big Sky Conference in Dillon Jones. He averages a double-double with 18.9 points per game and 10.9 rebounds. He leads the team with 44 made free throws and is shooting 79 percent from the line.

Steven Verplancken adds 12.3 points per game and 3.1 rebounds. He leads the team with 22 made threes this season.

 

About The Series

The Cowboys lead the series 4-2 dating back to 1964. Wyoming holds a 4-0 record against the Wildcats in Laramie. Wyoming took the last meeting on New Year’s Eve in 2005 by a score of 58-48 in Laramie.
