COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., -- "Gutted."

That Tweet says it all, doesn't it?

Andrew Peasley threw three touchdown passes and added another on the ground while Wyoming's defense forced two fourth-quarter fumbles in a disheartening 34-27 setback to Air Force Saturday night inside Falcon Stadium.

How?

Special teams certainly were anything but special in this one.

John Hoyland missed a pair of field goals and had an extra point blocked with a chance to take a one-point lead with 6:14 remaining. That unit also allowed a 39-yard run on a fake punt, setting up the Falcons second touchdown of the night. A 31-yard punt by Clayton Stewart was also turned into a 43-yard field goal.

Late play calling, including failing to pick up a yard on consecutive snaps, didn't help, either.

Ouch.

Let's see what Wyoming fans from around the globe had to say about this one:

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
