LARAMIE -- Have you been locked in on bowl season?

I'd be less than honest if I said yes, but I did catch an impressive performance from Mikey Keene and Fresno State as they did, well, whatever they wanted against New Mexico State in Albuquerque.

Jerry Kill, one of new Wyoming head coach Jay Sawvel's mentors, had a postgame press conference for the ages, too.

Who knew Aggies and Lobos would become must-watch TV? That rivalry will renew Sept. 28 in Las Cruces. Can't wait.

I watched bits and pieces of Jacksonville State's win over Louisiana and Ohio's beatdown of Georgia Southern. Checked in on that rain-soaked Appalachian State victory over MAC champion Miami (Ohio) and even the FCS semifinal game between Montana and North Dakota State.

The one I wish I could've watched was Boise State getting housed by UCLA inside SoFi Stadium. The Broncos started true freshman CJ Tiller under center, and from what I saw on Twitter, it didn't go well.

That's a shame.

I'm not one of those guys that pulls for the Mountain West, if you couldn't tell.

I was very much rooting for New Mexico State and UCLA just like I will with James Madison when it takes on Air Force this week. I'm indifferent when it comes to UNLV and San Jose State. Wouldn't care either way if those two get a win. I think Brent Brennan is one of the best coaches in the game and it has been cool to see the Rebels rise under Barry Odom.

Well check back in next week from the desert. Wyoming will finally reappear on that graphic below when it faces Toledo in the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl Dec. 30 in Tucson.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
