Show Us Your Picks: Bowl Season
TUCSON, Ariz., -- It's finally here.
While we've waited patiently for Wyoming's postseason appearance, things have been, shall we say, busy, in Laradise.
Craig Bohl announced on Dec. 6 that after 10 years at the school he would be stepping down and retiring from coaching, a profession he was involved in for nearly four decades. Moments later, Jay Sawvel was named his successor, becoming the 33rd head coach in Cowboy football history.
Sawvel will still serve as the team's defensive coordinator in Tucson. After Saturday, Bohl's son, Aaron Bohl, will lead the defense going forward.
Tim Polasek, Wyoming's former offensive coordinator, is the new head man at North Dakota State. He has won four national titles in Fargo. That was a natural fit.
The program also inked 26 new players on early signing day, including four players from the Cowboy State. Just six players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal thus far. Only cornerback Kolbey Taylor was a major contributor and even he didn't appear in the final two games of the regular season.
Now, we play football.
The Pokes and Rockets are set to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. Mountain Time and the game will be televised on The CW and streamed at barstoolsports.com.
