LARAMIE -- Let's face it, picking games when Wyoming isn't playing is not very fun.

Air Force was forced to cancel Saturday's meeting between the two Front Range rivals because of that pandemic that won't seem to go away. It almost derailed the Cowboys' entire season. If we keep this in perspective, this is one game.

Granted, a huge game that everyone loves.

Oh well, next year.

Last week’s results

Of course Ryan Yarborough won the picks last week. What is that guy not good at? Aside from taking Wyoming in the Border War, the former Cowboy great went 8-1 overall.

Nice work.

I went 6-3 despite thinking all week that my picks were awful. I took Boise State at home against BYU. I figured San Diego State would take care of San Jose State at home. I also picked UW.

Casey Dearcorn and DJ Johnson finished 5-4 overall, and Emilee O'Brien, Kasey Orr and guest picker, Desi Eberhardt, all picked four right.

Desi had a pretty good week though. Her son, UW senior receiver Ayden Eberhardt, had a career day in his home state, snagging seven passes for 137 yards against CSU. He was awesome.

This week we welcome in a couple of Cheyenne natives as our guest pickers.

April Hudson, now a resident of Orange, Texas, always flies the Brown and Gold in the Lone Star State. The Cheyenne East grad and I have been friends since we were kids. When I worked at The Baytown Sun outside of Houston, we reconnected and always had a good time talking all things Wyoming.

Frances Reimers, a UW graduate living in the DC area, also joins us this week. If you follow the Cowboys on social media, you've seen Frances. She is a big fan and loves her Pokes.

Maybe that's why she is the CEO of Firestarter, an advising company that helps everyone -- including athletes -- with brand promotion, among a million other things.

My “Bloodbath” pick

I'll admit, I haven't been a believer in SJSU. I mean, I'm sure that I am not alone there. But the Spartans have been beyond impressive early this season, picking up wins over Air Force, New Mexico and SDSU.

This week, I think they take care of business in a big way at home against winless UNLV. They are a 15.5-point favorite. They deserve it.

They'll cover.
