LARAMIE -- Did you sleep a little better last night?

The Mountain West is here to stay. Sure, it looks different, but it's home and should be until at least 2032. Seven programs -- Wyoming, UNLV, Air Force, San Jose State, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii -- all said "I promise" on Thursday.

The Rebels and Falcons got a little extra incentive to stick around. Those two had options. Money speaks.

Welcome back, boys.

The league now shifts its focus to adding at least two full-time members. Will that be Texas State? UTEP? New Mexico State? Reports late Thursday claimed the conference is flirting with Northern Illinois and Toledo out of the MAC. Those would be football-only invites, per Brett McMurphy of actionnetwork.com.

Is anyone rooting extra hard against five teams in particular? Heck, make it seven.

Can UNLV, a program that is on the verge of cracking the Top 25, knock off visiting Fresno State with its back-up quarterback?

Mighty San Diego State is an underdog at powerhouse Central Michigan. A tilt that should be must-watch TV -- Wazzu on The Blue -- now has me Googling: "Is there a way neither team can win?"

I'm also a big fan of "Bye" this Saturday. It's playing Colorado State, Utah State and Oregon State.

Petty? You bet. That's what makes rivalries fun, right?

Here are last week's standings:

Guy Hale: 11-1

Jen: 11-1

Doug: 35-13

DJ: 35-13

Jen: 35-13

A pair of Wyoming legends -- David Edeen and Galand Thaxton -- join us this week. The latter is the program's all-time leader in tackles with 467. Edeen, a Cheyenne native, lands No. 7 on the all-time sacks list with 23. Five of those came against BYU back in 1988 in the first ever night game inside War Memorial Stadium.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
