LARAMIE -- The first week of the college football schedule typically results in some easy wins for the pickers.

I mean, did anyone really think Scott Frost's Huskers had a fighting chance against mighty Northwestern in Ireland?

Oops.

Six of eight actually believed in Nebraska. Don't count me as one of those -- ever.

In all seriousness, I don't think anyone -- aside from our guest picker, Carli Bassett -- thought Hawaii could stay with Vanderbilt. Not that the Commodores are a powerhouse, but the Rainbow Warriors feature the youngest roster in all of college football. Vandy rolled up 601 yards of total offense in a 63-10 beatdown of the 'Bows.

We know all about youth around here.

Wyoming fell to Illinois 38-6 last Saturday in Champaign. The third least experienced team in the country played like it throughout, despite trailing by just 11 late in the third quarter. Half the panel took the Pokes.

It's a new week, my friends, which means a new opportunity.

The Cowboys open the home portion of their schedule Saturday when Tulsa pays a visit to War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Mountain Time. The game will be televised on FS1.

We all finished with winning records last week. It's bound to get tougher. Mat Murdock, our resident Mr. Do Everything and huge Louisville fan led the way:

Mat: 9-1

Jen: 8-2

Doug: 8-2

DJ: 7-3

Jared: 7-3

Cody: 7-3

Carli: 7-3

Ronald: 7-3

Here are this week's games and betting lines:

Tulsa (-6.5) at Wyoming

Portland State at San Jose State

Cal Poly (+40.5) at Fresno State

Colorado State (+30.5) at No. 8 Michigan (LOL!)

Northern Iowa at Air Force

Arizona (+6.5) at San Diego State

Texas State (+1) at Nevada

Utah State (+41.5) at No. 1 Alabama (LOL!)

Maine at New Mexico

Boise State (+2.5) at Oregon State

Western Kentucky (-16.5) at Hawaii

No. 5 Notre Dame (+17) at No. 2 Ohio State

This week I asked a pair of my friends to join in the mix: Matt Garcia and Amanda Fredrickson, both of Cheyenne.

All of the odds listed above are obviously subject to change, but we gave it our best shot:
