Week 4 of Spring Football Kicks Off With ‘Bloody Tuesday’
LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowboys opened the fourth week of spring practice on Tuesday inside War Memorial Stadium for the 10th practice of the spring with the Cowboys coming off a scrimmage last Saturday on a sunny day in Laramie.
Wyoming will have open practice again this week with the start set for 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Spring Game is set for noon on April 26.

What Head Coach Jay Sawvel Had to Say
“I thought practice was good today and we came back with an emphasis on hitting. It was encouraging today. I have been really pleased with how we have been throwing and catching the ball so far this spring. I’m excited for where we can be offensively, but we still have some work to do. We are a far better offensive football team then we were a season ago.”

Cowboys Scrimmage for Nearly Two Hours Last Saturday
The Cowboys scrimmaged or nearly two hours last Saturday with around 130 plays during the practice. Wyoming’s scrimmage on Saturday will be different as Wyoming will host the annual Spring Game on April 26th at Noon.
“I thought the scrimmage on Saturday was really good,” Sawvel said. “We saw a lot of good things on both sides of the ball.”
Cowboys Feature Excellent Tight End Room
The Cowboy tight end group coached by veteran assistant Shannon Moore features a deep and experienced group.
John Michael Gyllenborg is poised for a special senior season and Evan Svoboda, last year's starting quarterback, is making a smooth transition to the position. Svoboda suffered a broken bone in his hand and is undergoing surgery Wednesday that will keep him out for the remainder of camp.
Isaac Schoenfeld, the 6-foot-5, 258-pound junior from Rock Springs, has also developed into a mismatch for defenses. Justin Erb has earned a scholarship from head coach Jay Sawvel for his play at tight end and significant special teams contributions. Sophomore Jake Wilson will add athleticism to the room as well appearing in four games last season maintaining his redshirt.
