LARAMIE -- The University of Wyoming soccer team wraps up one of the longest road swings in program history this week. The Cowgirls travel to UC Davis on Friday for a 7 p.m. match at Aggie Soccer Field. The game will be streamed on MW+.

The match against the Aggies represents the Pokes’ sixth straight tilt away from Laramie. And all five leading up to Friday have been wins.

Taking it a step further, they’ve won all six road games this season in what is the longest such streak in program history.

“We are creating a lot of confidence in our performances on the road,” head coach Josh Purdum said. “Momentum is so important. We tried to schedule a non-conference where there’s balance between winning games and challenging games. We went above and beyond in non-conference, and we’ve carried that into conference.

“I’m quite proud of the performances.”

The performances have given Wyoming not just its best road stretch in program history but also its best start to a season in school history. The Cowgirls are 8-2-0 overall, 1-0-0 (3 points) in Mountain West play.

They’ll put that to the test against a UC Davis squad that’s 2-7-2 on the season and 0-2-0 (0 points) in league play. The Aggies began Mountain West play in Colorado Springs and dropped both matches to Air Force and Colorado College.

UC Davis has had a tough time scoring this season. They’re being outscored 15-6 and no Aggie has found the back of the net more than once. Three different goalkeepers have started a match in 2026, while Piper Wilkison has started the last two, giving her six starts on the season. She’s recorded 15 saves with nine goals allowed for a GAA of 1.50.

Wyoming – which most recently beat Nevada, 2-0 – is outscoring foes, 20-7. Alyssa Glover leads the way with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Glover is just one goal away from matching the program’s all-time goal record of 25, which was set by Jamie Tatum in 2023.

Maddie Burr and Isabel Vasco each have three goals and three assists for nine points this year. Alisa Bunn and Brooke Brown have scored twice, as well.

Goalkeeper, Haley Bartel, just keeps adding to her school record shutout mark. She has half a dozen clean sheets this season and 24 for her career, which is five clear of second place. For the season, she’s registered 27 saves with six goals surrendered for a GAA of 0.61.

Wyoming ascended to No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches’ Pacific Region Poll. It’s also ranked No. 66 in the RPI. Both of those rankings are program bests.

Friday marks the first-ever meeting between the Cowgirls and Aggies. Following the trip to Davis, the Pokes finally return home to host San Jose State on Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. at the Madrid Sports Complex.

From Bison to Triceratops - All of Wyoming's Official Things

Every state in our nation has chosen things that represent the state in one way or another to be official state things. Like a flower, or animal. Wyoming is no different.

The Equality State, or the Cowboy State, depending on which state slogan you want to go with, has a state flower. But did you know we also have a state tree and a state fish? Yes, we even have a state code.

To be an official thing, a member of the state legislature must write and submit a bill to the legislature declaring that a thing will be the official state thing. Then the legislature votes to pass the bill, or not, if it passes, the governor signs the bill into law and we have a new official state thing.

Here is what we have so far, all of Wyoming's official things. Now you can win big on Wyo Trivia Night if that's a thing that exists.
