Four Wyoming Golfers Named Cobalt All-America Scholars

LARAMIE -- The Golf Coaches Association of America announced its Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars on Tuesday. Four University of Wyoming men’s golfers were honored.

Patrick Azevedo, Jaren Calkins, Kristof Panke and Damon Vilkauskas garnered the award. In order to earn recognition, a student-athlete must at least be a sophomore, participate in 50 percent of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

It was the third such honor for Azevedo, Calkins and Panke and Vilkauskas’ first since transferring to Wyoming. The Pokes open the 2025-26 season at the Ram Masters Invite in September.

Men’s Golf Earns Presidents Special Recognition Award

The Golf Coaches Association of America released its PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recipients on Tuesday. The University of Wyoming men’s golf team was honored with President’s Special Recognition.

In order to qualify for Presidents Special Recognition, a team must possess an average team GPA of 3.5 or higher. A total of 74 Division I teams met that threshold.

The Cowboys have garnered the team academic award each of the last 16 years. They open the 2025-26 season at the Ram Masters Invite next month.
