FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Kiley Reisner continues to make Wyoming women's golf history.

The Cowgirl sophomore shot a 7-under 65 in the second round Monday to surge to the top of the leaderboard at the Ben Connell Ram Classic and set a new program record for lowest round.

Reisner, who opened the tournament with a 1-over 73 during the morning round, had seven birdies and no bogeys in the second round to break the UW record previously held by current teammate Elle Higgins (67) and former teammate Meghan Vogt (67) by two shots.

Reisner is tied for first with Washington's Hannah Ounap, UC Davis' Vani Karimanal and UNLV's Kuree Little at -6 entering Tuesday's final round on the par-72, 6,589-yard Ptarmigan Country Club.

UW, which is tied with Hawai'i for ninth in the team standings at +11, posted a collective 301 (+13) in the first round but rallied for a 286 (-2) in the second round, which is the fourth lowest team round in program history.

Reisner moved up 22 spots during the second round. Her sister, Kira Reisner, moved up 29 spots after following up a 78 with a 69 to get to +3 and tied for 35th entering the final 18 holes.

"Today was a marathon and a grind, both mentally and physically, but I'm so proud of the team to gut it out," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "Kiley had a spectacular afternoon led by her great putting. Kira also putted and scrambled extremely well for one of her best rounds as a Cowgirl.

"Overall, a solid team effort to hang with a strong field, especially through some adversity."

UNLV (-12) has a six-shot lead over Washington (-6) entering the final round. Kiley Reisner will be vying for the third individual title of her UW career.

The Cowgirls opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Utah Valley Invitational last week in Saratoga Springs, Utah. Reisner finished third individually.

During her freshman season, Reisner finished second individually to lead UW to victory at the National Golf Invitational. She was also the runner-up at the Mountain West Championships and the individual medalist at the Thunderbird Classic and Bobcat Desert Classic.

Reisner became only the third Cowgirl to be named to the All-MW team, joining Jordan Lintz (2000) and Jonelle Martinez (2009) on the list. She competed in the U.S. Girls Junior Championships in July at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C.

From Bison to Triceratops - All of Wyoming's Official Things

Every state in our nation has chosen things that represent the state in one way or another to be official state things. Like a flower, or animal. Wyoming is no different.

The Equality State, or the Cowboy State, depending on which state slogan you want to go with, has a state flower. But did you know we also have a state tree and a state fish? Yes, we even have a state code.

To be an official thing, a member of the state legislature must write and submit a bill to the legislature declaring that a thing will be the official state thing. Then the legislature votes to pass the bill, or not, if it passes, the governor signs the bill into law and we have a new official state thing.

Here is what we have so far, all of Wyoming's official things. Now you can win big on Wyo Trivia Night if that's a thing that exists.
