PODCAST: Do You Consider Utah a ‘Hated’ Rival?
LARAMIE -- When it comes to hated rivals, two seem to immediately roll right off the tongue: Colorado State and BYU.
There's plenty of good reasons for that.

For me, Air Force is up there, too. Yes, I understand what it means to go to the academy and their higher calling in this world. Still, it's a bitter series and they are based in that state.
Ask most former and current Wyoming players and they'll tell you Troy Calhoun's Falcons are right at the top. Agreed. Wholeheartedly.
It's always been the Top 4 and everyone else in my life as a local. Those three above and the Utah Utes.

That started well before Joe Glenn expressed my exact feelings to Kyle Whittingham and the home bench in that forgettable 2007 meeting. You remember that onside kick with the Utes leading 43-0 in the third. I was forcibly removed from Rice-Eccles Stadium that afternoon. I earned it. I had seen enough anyway.
The 1999 win in Salt Lake City is still one of my favorite games.
Watching Patrick Chukwurah and Jared Jernigan sending quarterback Darnell Arceneaux into the field-goal post and, eventually the local hospital, put an exclamation point on that 43-29 victory.
Who would've guessed back then that was the Cowboys last win inside that building.
I couldn't stand Steve Smith, Kevin Dyson and Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala, among many others. I'm still bitter the Utes got a bowl invite in 1996 with an 8-4 record. They got waxed by Wisconsin in the Copper Bowl.
Good.
Wyoming, at 10-2, was left out in the cold despite the No. 6 team in the nation having to take the Cowboys into overtime. BYU pulled out the 28-35 victory in that inaugural WAC title game in Las Vegas and punched its ticket to an Alliance game, the Cotton Bowl.
Rubbing it in back in '07 was infuriating. Seeing Utah land the Olympics -- and the stadium upgrades that came with it -- and Urban Meyer before cruising to Power-4 status is also maddening.
Jared Newland and Ryan Thorburn joined me this week on the latest episode of the Roaring Repeater Podcast, giving their two cents on the rivalry with Utah.
We also broke down this current version of the Utes, who Saturday night will pay a visit to War Memorial Stadium. Wyoming head coach Jay Sawvel doesn't see any weaknesses in that team.
I don't, either.
We also talk about Josh Allen's jersey retirement, the 31-7 victory over Northern Iowa and Kaden Anderson's status heading into this much-anticipated meeting. We also talk about the Mountain West betting odds this week, give you our predictions and lay out the "Stupidest s--- we read" this week.
