LARAMIE -- Wyoming's starting point guard and leading scorer is returning to the court.

Obi Agbim missed the previous two games, dealing with a right ankle injury that Sundance Wicks initially called a "light sprain." The senior, who is averaging 18.5 points per game, will play tomorrow night at Boise State when the Cowboys take on the 12-5 Broncos inside ExtraMile Arena.

"We got a bye week and a chance to get healthy," UW's first-year head coach said. "Obi was full-go in practice yesterday ... live, full contact, everything looked good, looked sharp."

Despite going through pregame warmups last Tuesday night inside the Arena-Auditorium, the Fort Lewis transfer could only watch from the end of the bench as the Cowboys blew a 14-point halftime lead and eventually fell to frontrunning New Mexico, 61-53.

Agbim also missed a five-point road win at Air Force.

In the dying minutes of a 67-58 setback to Boise State in Laramie just 13 days ago, Agbim laid near the baseline clutching at his lower right ankle late in the second half. He was forced to sub out with 2:45 remaining in regulation and his team down five. After the final whistle, his teammates, Scottie Ebube and Jordan Nesbitt, helped him through the handshake line and up the ramp into the locker room.

"So, once again, it's toughness, right?" Wicks said postgame after Agbim netted 14 in the loss to the Broncos. "This is going to be a first test for Obi on adversity. Like, how is he going to be able to, you know, respond from an ankle sprain?"

After that home loss to New Mexico, Wicks compared Agbim to "Domino's pizza," saying "He gives you something when nothing's going on out there."

The "shell-shocked" Cowboys allowed the Lobos to go on a 17-1 run out of the break. Agbim's absence -- along with an ineffective AJ Wills -- caused his lineup to play out of position over the final 20 minutes, Wicks added.

With 15 games remaining on the regular-season slate, Wicks said he's anxious to see how much better of a playmaker Agbim will be for this team, even if that means the scoring goes down and the assist numbers go up.

"Obi is going to start realizing here pretty soon his gravity is going to have to be a real weapon for us, because he's going to be able to draw two to the ball," Wicks continued. "I think what we learned from the (initial) Boise game was, he took a lot of tough, contested shots early. We can get that thing moving, because he's going to draw so much attention that we'll be able to find an advantage if we're seeing it the right way.

"So, what Obi does is, now he's a weapon. People know that and they want to shut him down. They want to gear their whole scouting report toward him, as a player."

Tipoff against the Broncos is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
