Wyoming’s Meghan Vogt to compete in PGA WORKS Championship
LARAMIE – Wyoming golfer Meghan Vogt will participate in the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship next Monday through Wednesday at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisc.

The Cowgirl senior, who recently finished tied for 32nd in the Mountain West Championships after battling injuries for two years, will return to lead UW head coach Josey Stender's 2025-26 team.
"I'm just grateful for the opportunity to play in a postseason event and finish on a high note for myself and Coach," Vogt said. "Also, just being able to represent the university and our program at a special place at an event hosted by the PGA, that's really cool."
There are 21 competitors in the women's individual division. Vogt is the only selection from the MW for the 54-hole women's event.
Whistling Straits hosted the 2004, 2010 and 2015 PGA Championships and the 2021 Ryder Cup. Vogt and the Cowgirls opened the 2024-25 season at a tournament at Chambers Bay in greater Seattle, which hosted the 2015 U.S. Open.
"This looks very similar – lots of heavy grass and stuff," Vogt said. "I'm really excited to get the opportunity to play at a course that's hosted PGA (events) multiple times, the Ryder Cup. I'm really looking forward to that style of golf, too."
Vogt led the Cowgirls in stroke average (76.20) through her first 30 rounds as a freshman but played in just one tournament during her sophomore and junior seasons due to injuries.
At the 2024 Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State, Vogt set a program record for lowest two-round score (-7).
Vogt will graduate from UW with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences this month and pursue an MBA while using her extra year of eligibility.
"This past season has been eye opening after almost two years off, but it's something I'm grateful for," Vogt said. "I had a lot of highs and lows. It was something I needed to go through, honestly, just for me to really go into next year and finish on a high note and be a leader on the team."
Vogt will lead a Cowgirl team which also returns recent MW freshmen of the week selections Lucia Morelli and Kira Reisner, Samantha Spielman of Sheridan and Sophie Spiva of Casper.
