7220sports.com Kickoff Show: Flush It, Move On
LARAMIE -- What do you want to see from your Wyoming Cowboys today?
Would you be satisfied with a one-point win? Does this need to be a convincing victory? What if the Pokes lose to an FCS program in front of a sold-out crowd today inside War Memorial Stadium?
No offense to Idaho, but after last week's disaster at Arizona State, can you even imagine?
There has been a constant message coming from players and coaches this week -- "flush it." They want to leave that 48-7 loss to the Sun Devils in the rear-view mirror. Can't let one bad loss turn into two, head coach Jay Sawvel said postgame.
Give the 7220sports.com Kickoff Show a listen to get you ready for this, I don't mind saying it, must-win outing in Laradise. Just click right HERE.
Wyoming has won seven straight over the Vandals, but it hasn't been easy. That scrappy bunch from Moscow has taken the Poke to the brinks a number of times, including in the last meeting back in 2019.
Running back Trey Smith saved the day with an 80-yard jaunt to the end zone in the fourth quarter of a 21-16 win. The 2012 meeting in the Kibbie Dome was an overtime thriller. Does the 1996 squad win 10 games and compete for a conference title in Las Vegas if it loses to Idaho in the season opener? Not likely.
The Cowpokes will look to turn the page today in Laramie. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. Mountain Time and the game will be televised on TruTV. You can also stream it on MAX.
