
Carroll Places Sixth at U23 Nationals/World Team Trials
GENEVA, Ohio -- The University of Wyoming wrestling team had a trio of guys competing at U23 Nationals/World Team Trials over the weekend. Christian Carroll (97 kg) led the way with a sixth-place finish in the U23 Freestyle competition being held at the Spire Academy.

Carroll went 3-3 overall. He advanced to the semifinals before his first loss of the tournament. Carroll ended up in the fifth-place match and lost to take sixth.
Gunner Henry (92 kg) and David Saenz (61 kg) also competed over the weekend. Henry went 3-2 overall. He advanced to the Round of 16 before his first defeat and was eliminated in the consolation semifinals.
Saenz went 1-2 overall. He made it to the Round of 64 prior to his first loss and was eliminated in the consolation Round of 64.
