Cowboy Golf Set to Compete in Mountain West Championships
LARAMIE -- The University of Wyoming men’s golf team is set for the Mountain West Conference Championships this week. The tournament runs from Friday-Sunday at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Oregon.

The course is a par 72 layout that stretches 7,210 yards. Each of the three days will feature 18 holes of golf. Friday’s action gets underway at 8:30 a.m. while Saturday and Sunday begin at 9 a.m.
When looking at the rankings, Wyoming is in the middle of the pack among conference members. No. 16 San Diego State leads the way followed by No. 35 UNLV, No. 45 Colorado State, No. 48 New Mexico, No. 97 San Jose State, No. 105 Wyoming, No. 107 Boise State, No. 109 Fresno State, No. 151 Nevada, No. 157 Utah State and No. 240 Air Force.
The Pokes wrapped up the regular season with seven top-10 team finishes. Their best tournament of 2024-25 stood as the Duck Invite where they placed runner-up – their highest finish since winning the 2023 Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
A balanced Wyoming roster logged 15 top-25 finishes this season. Patrick Azevedo, Jaren Calkins, Kristof Panke, Davis Seybert and Brody Leid each had three such finishes.
The Cowboys tied for seventh at last year’s conference tournament. They fired an 868 (+4) at Emerald Valley. Wyoming has placed anywhere from 5th-9th the four years prior to that.
The NCAA Regional selections are announced April 30. The tournament then spans May 12-14 at various locations around the country.
