LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowgirl golf squad will take a trip out to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for their second tournament of the season as they are set to compete in the Coeur d’Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational hosted by Gonzaga September 18-20.

“We are very fortunate to get to play such an iconic golf course in the northwest. The team is excited to return and take the confident momentum from earlier this week and use it,” UW head women’s golf coach Josey Stender said. “This is a loaded field and another great challenge, but I am confident that our experience last year at this tournament will benefit us.”

The Cowgirls are coming off a strong start to the season at the UVU Hobble Creek Classic where they finished eighth against a competitive 18 team field. The duo of Kyla Wilde and Samantha Hui led the Cowgirls to their top ten finish after finishing tied for 17th and 21st respectively. Jadan Gonzalez also made an impact in her first tournament in the Brown and Gold finishing tied for 34th.

Wyoming will be in for a test in their second tournament of the season as they are set to go up against a very competitive 19 team field. The field will be highlighted by Hawaii who won the Coeur d’Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational a year ago and are the reigning Big West Champions. Also, in the field this year will be San Francisco who finished fourth in the West Coast Conference a season led by NCAA Regional Qualifier Riana Mission who returns to lineup for the Dons this season after finishing tied for 47th at the 2022 Stanford Regional last season. All seven teams that finished in the top seven of the Coeur d’Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational last season will be returning to the tournament field this season making for a very competitive event.

The Cowgirls lineup will be led by Wilde, Hui, Gonzalez and Morgan Ryan who will all be making their second start of the season. After competing as an individual, a week ago at the UVU Hobble Creek Classic, Rachel Stoinski will round out the Wyoming lineup this week.

The Cowgirls are set to play three rounds on the 6,085-yard, Par 71 course with the first round of play scheduled to tee off at 9:00 a.m. MT on Sunday. The second round of play is set for Monday at 9:00 a.m. MT while the final round will tee off at 8:20 a.m. MT on Tuesday.
