Cowgirl Golf Wraps up Play at Silicon Valley Showcase

MILLBRAE, Calif., – For the second consecutive day, Cowgirl golf was led by a freshman at the Silicon Valley Showcase on the par-71, 6,084-yard Green Hills Country Club.

Kira Reisner shot 73 in the final round to pace Wyoming, which finished the 54-hole tournament ninth with a score of 912 (+60).

Lucia Morelli shot 1-under 70 in the opening round and 78 in the second round Monday. The freshman shot 75 Tuesday to finish 23rd overall (+10).

Senior Kyla Wilde was the most consistent player for UW, finishing tied for 27th (+13).

Pepperdine finished at 854 (+2) and to edge Kansas State (855) for the team title. Pepperdine’s Eunseo Choi shot a final round 68 to take the individual medalist honors, finishing -5 for the tournament to hold off San Francisco’s Yu Shang (-4) by one stroke.

UW will shift the program’s focus to hosting the Cowgirl Classic April 2-3 in Maricopa, Ariz.

Every state in our nation has chosen things that represent the state in one way or another to be official state things. Like a flower, or animal. Wyoming is no different.

The Equality State, or the Cowboy State, depending on which state slogan you want to go with, has a state flower. But did you know we also have a state tree and a state fish? Yes, we even have a state code.

To be an official thing, a member of the state legislature must write and submit a bill to the legislature declaring that a thing will be the official state thing. Then the legislature votes to pass the bill, or not, if it passes, the governor signs the bill into law and we have a new official state thing.
