After hanging on in the second set, 25-22 to knot the match up at one set each, the Cowgirls controlled the third set 25-16 to take a two sets to one lead. In the fourth, UW (18-8, 7-8 MW) enjoyed a big lead as it was up by as many as eight points. At first, SDSU appeared that it had won the set 27-25 to force a fifth and deciding set, but a reversal tied things at 26-26 and eventually the Cowgirls secured the victory thanks to back-to-back kills from Rylee Schulz and Tierney Barlow.
