Cowgirls Set Sights on Silicon Valley Showcase

MILLBRAE, Calif., – The Cowgirl golfers get right back into action on Monday and Tuesday playing in the Silicon Valley Showcase in Millbrae, Calif. at the Green Hills Country Club. The event hosted by Santa Clara features some of the top teams in the nation.

Wyoming is coming off it’s best finish of the season finishing seventh at the SUU Pizza Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah. Wyoming shot 916 (+52) for the event.

Jadan Gonzalez had a career tournament tying for first at 216 (E) for the first win by a Cowgirl since 2019. Gonzalez shot a 69 (-3) in the final round, which is the sixth-lowest round in Cowgirl history. She was the first Cowgirl since Cristiana Ciasca won the Hobble Creek Fall Classic in 2019 to win an event.

Sophie Spiva is coming off a strong weekend with a strong final round, shooting a 73 (+1) in St. George. Her day three performance secured her a share of 9th place. Spiva concluded the weekend at 224 (+8) playing as an indy, for a career-best finish. It marked the first time this season that two Cowgirls finished in the top-10.

Morgan Ryan leads the team averaging 74.9 strokes per round for the season. Gonzalez averages 75 per round after here even-par performance over the weekend.
