LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis squad closes its 2022 fall slate this week at the ITA Mountain Region Championships. The event, which runs October 12-16, is hosted by UNLV.

For the Cowgirls, this will be the third fall event for the student-athletes. Wyoming competed down in Cancun, Mexico in the Princess Resorts College Cup to open the fall, before a couple of Cowgirls went to Colorado State for the Jon Messick Invitational. Select Cowgirls went to the ITA All-Americas in North Carolina, at the end of September and beginning of October.

This week will be the fourth-straight time that the regional is hosted by UNLV. A total of 20 teams will be competing at the event, including eight Mountain West teams.

All student-athletes are guaranteed at least two matches. In Division I, regional doubles champions, as well as regional singles champions and runners-up, qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships at the end of the season.

Schedule of Events
October 12 – First Round doubles (64), followed by First Round singles (128)

Oct. 13 – Second Round doubles (32), Second (64) and Third Round (32) singles

Oct. 14 – Round of 16 and Quarterfinals of doubles, Round of 16 singles, added singles & doubles matches

Oct. 15 – Semifinal doubles, Quarterfinal and Semifinal singles, added matches

Oct. 16 – Doubles Final, Singles Final, Consolation Singles, added matches
