LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowgirls return to action with their second fall tournament of the season this weekend down to the Air Force Academy for the annual Bedford Cup. The tournament will run from Sept. 25 to the 27th.

The Cowgirls are coming off a solid opening weekend to fall play at the Colorado State Jon Messick Invitational last week. Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia won the Flight A bracket at the tournament while in Flight D, Dilnaz Mashabayeva and Ivona Ridan made it to the championship match but did not play one another. Ridan went 3-0 at the tournament last week to open her UW career.

Mashabayeva went 2-0 at the invite last week while Silver Bijlsma, Eugenia Ceinos, Zlata Nesterova and Ruby Young also picked up singles victories. In doubles, the teams of Kochelaevskaia and Young and Madlena Orlova and Mashabayeva each earned a win over the weekend.

The Bedford Cup will be the second of five fall competitions for Wyoming and its final tune-up before October’s ITA Mountain Regional Championships hosted by BYU.

From Bison to Triceratops - All of Wyoming's Official Things

Every state in our nation has chosen things that represent the state in one way or another to be official state things. Like a flower, or animal. Wyoming is no different.

The Equality State, or the Cowboy State, depending on which state slogan you want to go with, has a state flower. But did you know we also have a state tree and a state fish? Yes, we even have a state code.

To be an official thing, a member of the state legislature must write and submit a bill to the legislature declaring that a thing will be the official state thing. Then the legislature votes to pass the bill, or not, if it passes, the governor signs the bill into law and we have a new official state thing.

Here is what we have so far, all of Wyoming's official things. Now you can win big on Wyo Trivia Night if that's a thing that exists.
