LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team returns home looking to snap a two-game skid Monday night as Wyoming welcomes Chadron State to town for a 6:30 tip.

Monday’s contest will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and can be heard across all 25 stations on the Cowgirl Radio Network with Keith Kelley on the call.

A LOOK AT THE COWGIRLS
UW (1-2) lost its last time out, 53-44 Thursday night at Kansas City in its first road game of the season. McKinley Bradshaw led the way with 19 points in the loss, the only Cowgirl to score in double figures. Bradshaw is currently averaging 16 points per game on the young season, a mark that ranks fifth-best in the Mountain West. Bradshaw is averaging 20.5 points per game in the last two contests.

Grace Ellis is also scoring in double figures thus far through three contests. Ellis is averaging 10 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding at six boards per contest. Alba Sanchez Ramos is averaging a team-high seven rebounds per game in 2021-22. Tommi Olson leads the squad averaging four assists per game and has a team-high four steals.

Monday’s game will be the fourth contest for the Cowgirls against an RMAC opponent this season. UW opened the regular season with a 67-53 win over CSU Pueblo November 9 and had a pair of exhibitions against RMAC teams in Colorado Christian and UC Colorado Springs.

SCOUTING CHADRON STATE
Chadron State enters Monday’s contest with a 0-3 mark. Monday night’s game is an exhibition for the Eagles, who are averaging 57.7 points per game and allowing opponents to score at a 79-point clip.

Ashayla Powers leads CSC scoring 12.7 points per game, all coming off the bench. Despite not starting a game thus far, Powers is second on the team averaging just under 24 minutes per game and is shooting 48.1 percent from the floor. Powers is also averaging a team-best six rebounds and two steals per game.

Emily Achter leads the Eagles with eight (2.7 per game) assists and has four steals. Samiyah Worrell is second on the team averaging 8.7 points and four rebounds per contest and has made a team-best four 3-pointers.

Head coach Janet Raymer is in her sixth season on the bench at CSC.

SERIES AGAINST CHADRON STATE
The Cowgirls are 12-0 all-time in the series against Chadron State, with all 12 contests played at home.

UW is averaging 78. 6 points per game in the series and is holding the Eagles to just 48.4 per contest. Last time against the Eagles, the Cowgirls opened the 2018-19 season with an 80-33 victory. Then-freshmen, Olson, Sanchez Ramos and Quinn Weidemann all appeared in the win. Sanchez Ramos scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting in that contest.
