Elbadra To Compete in NCAA Track and Field National Championships

LARAMIE -- Salma Elbadra is set to take on the field at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships from Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

The freshman from Morocco will represent the Pokes in the 1500M race with the semifinals slated for June 6 and the final set for June 8.

Elbadra earned her spot in the field at the Championships with an impressive performance at the West Regionals two weeks ago from Fayetteville, Ark., making the cut and advancing to the final field of 24.

Elbadra is one of three freshman in the field for the 1500. Her qualifying time of 4:15.80 out of the West Regional ranks 19th among the women in the event.

2024 Outdoor Season for Elbadra

* Mountain West Champion in the 1500.

* Third place in the Mountain West in the 800.

* School record holder in the 800.

* No. 2 at Wyoming in the 1500.

The 2024 NCAA West First Rounds

Elbadra was one of 10 University of Wyoming student athletes to represent the Cowboys and Cowgirls at the West First Rounds. Last season Kareem Mersal and Katelyn Mitchem represented the Brown & Gold at the National Championships.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert Gagliardi, Jared Newland, Ryan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
