LARAMIE -- Wyoming will travel to Columbia, Mo., this coming Monday and Tuesday, April 10-11 to face 13 other top collegiate teams in the 2023 Tiger Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri.

The tournament will be played on The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia and will feature four teams in the Top 70 teams in the country and two Top 25 teams in Illinois and Kansas State.

2023 Missouri Tiger Collegiate Invitational: Tournament Field

The 14 teams in this year’s field include: host Missouri, Arkansas State, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State, Lipscomb, Louisiana Monroe, Marquette, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, Rutgers and Wyoming.

The Big Ten will have five teams in the field: Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska and Rutgers. Two Big 12 schools will compete in Iowa State and Kansas State. The Mountain West will also be represented by two teams in Nevada and Wyoming.

Host Missouri is the lone SEC team in the tournament field.

2022-23 Team and Individual Successes   

The Cowboys have enjoyed an outstanding 2022-23 season, winning two team titles at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational during the fall portion of the season and capturing their own Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate during the spring season.

UW has recorded four Top Five team finishes in nine stroke-play events and six top-seven finishes.

Leading the way for the Cowboys individually this season have been sophomores Patrick Azevedo and Jaren Calkins, who are averaging 71.52 and 71.85 strokes per round, respectively. Senior Kirby Coe-Kirkham is close behind at 72.50 strokes per round.

Azevedo has seven Top-25 finishes in nine tournaments this season to pace the Pokes. Calkins has four Top 25 finishes this season, and Coe-Kirkham has three.
