Mountain West to Release 2024 Football Schedule on Thursday
LARAMIE -- We know who and where Wyoming is playing this fall.
Tomorrow afternoon, we'll know when.
The Mountain West Conference is set to announce the full 2024 football schedule at 1 p.m. Mountain Time, including the new league slate for Pac-12 outcasts Oregon State and Washington State.
The Cowboys' non-conference slate is already set:
* Saturday, Aug. 31 at Arizona State
* Saturday, Sept. 7 vs. Idaho
* Saturday, Sept. 14 vs. BYU
* Saturday, Sept. 21 at North Texas
Game times and television schedules are still to be determined.
We also know who Wyoming will play at home and on the road
* at Colorado State
* at New Mexico
* at San Jose State
* at Washington State
* vs. Boise State
* vs. Air Force
* vs. San Diego State
* vs. Utah State
2024 will mark the return of the Battle for Jim Bridger's Rifle when the Cowboys host the Aggies inside War Memorial Stadium. The defending conference champion Broncos will also pay a visit to the high plains.
Wyoming's "protected" rivalries against CSU and Air Force remain. Jay Sawvel's squad will play inside Fort Collins' Canvas Stadium and host the Falcons.
San Diego State and its new head coach Sean Lewis will also play in Laramie. The Aztecs haven't traveled here since the 2016 Mountain West Championship game in 2016.
The Cowboys will face off against former defensive coordinator Jake Dickert and the Washington State Cougars in Pullman. They will also hit the road to take on a pair of first-year head coaches in New Mexico's Bronco Mendenhall and San Jose State's Ken Niumatalolo.
The league title game, which will feature the two teams with the best conference win percentage -- excluding Oregon State and Washington State -- will meet Dec. 7 on the home field of the highest-ranked team.
