LARAMIE -- Caleb Roberson's biggest moment in a Wyoming uniform may have been catching his roommate Titus Swen on a 71-yard screen pass during May's annual spring game.

He played in two regular season games last fall as a redshirt freshman.

Those were likely his last two as a Cowboy.

Roberson entered the NCAA Transfer Portal Thursday, according to a Twitter post from rivals.com. 247sports.com also lists Roberson in the portal.

The Eastvale, Calif., product saw time against Hawaii and Colorado State last fall but didn't record any stats. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback was supposed to add depth to a position loaded with inexperience behind entrenched starters CJ Coldon and Azizi Hearn.

Roberson played his high school football in St. Louis and was ranked the No. 37 overall recruit in the state of Missouri by 247sports. Rivals ranked him a three-star recruit out of Cardinal Ritter Prep, where he registered 93 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery as a senior. Roberson took that fumble 37 yards to the end zone during a district championship game.

Roberson also lined up at receiver where he snagged four receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. One of those scores came on a 91-yard reception in the state quarterfinals. He was also a two-time 300-meter Hurdle championship in California.

Roberson, who will have four years of eligibility remaining, was also recruited by BYU, Colorado State and Iowa State.

Players who enter the transfer portal can withdraw their names and return to their original school. Keshaun Taylor, a fellow defensive back, entered the portal after the season and decided to come back to Laramie. Earlier this month he decided once again to transfer.

Depth at the cornerback spot has been an issue for Craig Bohl's Cowboys since 2018 when Tyler Hall and Antonio Hull were multi-year starters. Here are the corners left on this season's roster: Xavier Carter (6-0, 175, Fr., Manvel, Texas), CJ Coldon (6-1, 180, Soph., Belleville, Ill.,), Azizi Hearn (6-1, 202, Jr., Oceanside, Calif.,), Zaire Jackson (5-11, 170, Fr., Parker, Colo.,), Mathew Posas (5-8, 165, R-Fr., Madera, Calif.,), Cameron Stone (5-10, 182, Fr., Rosharon, Texas), Kolbey Taylor (6-2, 175, Fr., Houston, Texas).

Stone and Carter are currently second on the depth chart behind Hearn and Coldon.

247sports.com lists three former Cowboys currently in the NCAA Transfer Portal: Roberson, Taylor and Cameron Smith.
