Samuelson, who was also named to the Big 12 All-Academic First team in March, is currently majoring in economics and holds a GPA of 3.41.

On the mat Samuelson has racked 56 career wins so far and recorded a career best second place finish at the Big 12 Championships last season. He also went undefeated in-home duals during the season and rattled off an 11-match win streak on his way to qualifying for his third straight NCAA Tournament.

Since being named the 184 starter as a true freshman, he has posted a winning record and at least 14 wins every season and has become a staple in the Cowboy lineup.
