LARAMIE -- This is going to be short and sweet.

My wife Emilee and I welcomed our new baby girl, Holland "Holly" Kennedy O'Brien, into the world bright and early this morning. It was a long night, and to be honest, I got a tad behind on things.

Thank you to all who reached out with well wishes. Means the world to me and my family.

Now, let's get back to business.

The Cowboys will take on Boise State at 7 p.m. tonight inside Albertson's Stadium. This is Wyoming's eighth trip all time to "The Blue." The first seven didn't go to plan, including a heartbreaking 10-17 overtime loss in 2019.

Will tonight be different?

I'm going to be honest, I selected the Broncos to win this one. However, would I be shocked if the visitors pulled off the upset? No, not really. Especially if the Pokes can have have the success they had on the ground last week in the Border War. That was a 385-yard rushing day courtesy of Titus Swen, Levi Williams and Xazavian Valladay.

Maybe just as important, the Cowboys didn't lose the turnover battle for the first time in five weeks. They didn't win it -- two fumbles for UW and a pair of picks off the right arm of Todd Centeio -- but it's a gigantic step in the right direction.

If the Cowboys can run the ball, keep the chains moving, win that turnover battle and maybe toss a few more balls in Isaiah Neyor's direction, the team could clinch bowl eligibility for the sixth time in seven seasons.

Now, Wyoming just needs to prove it in Idaho.

Here's how we fared after last week's picks:

DJ Johnson - 10-2
Jared Newland - 9-3
Kyle Sedar - 9-3
Logan Wilson - 9-3
Vicki Taylor - 9-3
Cody Tucker - 8-4
Mat Murdock - 8-4
Jen Kost - 8-4

Here's how the yearly standings now look for us regulars:

Johnson: 92-28
Sedar: 89-31
Kost: 87-33
Newland: 86-34
Murdock: 82-38
Tucker: 80-40

This week, we added a new DJ to the mix. That's former Wyoming linebacker DJ Eliot.

If you missed Eliot on the 7220sports.com Kickoff Show before the CSU game, you can listen to that right HERE. Eliot, along with former UW teammate, Trifon Demos, stayed a little longer for some "Overtime" action where they discussed Joe Tiller and the 1996 team. You can check that out right HERE.

Eliot has a wealth of football knowledge. Not just because he is a former player, either. He has coached for more than two decades, making stops at places like Miami, Florida State, Kentucky, Colorado and Kansas, among many other schools. Check it out.

Our good friend and one of my favorite people on earth, Kasey Orr, joins us this week as a guest picker this week.

Here's our best bet this week:
