Stender Announces Two New Golf Signees for 2023-24 Season

LARAMIE -- Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender announced the signing of a pair athletes on Monday. Kira Reisner and Tomine Bjerkelo will both join the Cowgirl golf squad next fall.
Kira Reisner – Northridge, California – Simi Valley High School
Reisner joins the Cowgirl golf squad after putting together a solid prep career at Simi Valley High School. During her time at Simi Valley, Reisner won the CIF LA City Championships during the 2020-21 season following that up with a fourth-place finish at the CIF LA City Championships during the 2021-22 season. She also captured the title at the 2022 California Junior Golf Brookside Shoot Out where she won with a six-stroke lead over the rest of the field. Along with producing impressive results, Reisner has experience competing in high level competitions including multiple Future Champions Tour events and the Palm Springs Open.

Tomine Bjerkelo – Sandnes, Norway – Colorado State University
Bjerkelo comes to Wyoming as a graduate transfer after spending the last four seasons at Colorado State University. While at CSU, Bjerkelo recorded a top ten finish at the 2019 Ron Moore Intercollegiate where she finished eighth with a score of 152 (+8). She posted a career best stroke average of 77.25 through 20 rounds of play during the 2019-20 season. Had a stroke of average of 79.39 through 18 rounds of play during the 2020-21 season. In her lone appearance of the 2022-23 campaign, she finished tied for 27th at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, capping off her tournament with a third-round score of 70 (-2). Bjerkelo prepped at Wang Toppidrett Stavanger in Sandnes, Norway where she had numerous impressive results including winning silver in the Norwegian Junior Championship and Bronze in the Norwegian Team Championship.
