LARAMIE -- This Friday night, Sept. 16, will be a special night at the University of Wyoming as the Wyoming Cowboy Football team hosts the Air Force Falcons in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium.

Wyoming fans can also make the night a special one for children and families in Albany County by donating to Toys for Tots at the game.

The University of Wyoming’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is sponsoring the event. A year ago, UW’s SAAC collected over $1,000 worth of donations for Toys for Tots and they are hoping to double that amount this year.

Fans may donate either by providing new, unwrapped toys, games or puzzles at toy collection bins located at Gates 1, 3, 4 or 6 at War Memorial Stadium or at the entrance to the Wildcatter Stadium Club and Suites. Donations will be accepted beginning at 4 p.m. and will continue up until kickoff.

Cash donations will also be accepted and UW student-athletes will be in the Ford Stadium Lot, Pepsi Pregame Zone in the Indoor Practice Facility and other locations around the stadium accepting cash donations to benefit children and families in Albany County.

All donations at this week’s games will remain in Albany County.

"The Code of the West" was declared the official state code of Wyoming, and the act was signed into law on March 3rd, 2010. Wyoming is the first state to adopt a code of ethics. The legislation chose ten ethics derived from the book "Cowboy Ethics" by James P. Owen
