It was a complete team effort for the Pokes. Five different players logged three top 25 finishes. Taking it a step further, Jaren Calkins and Kristof Panke each placed inside the top 10 three times, while Patrick Azevedo had one such finish.

The Duck Invite represented one of the occurrences when Calkins and Panke each took a top-five spot. Panke was runner-up and Calkins fifth, which helped the Cowboys finish second as a team, their best tournament showing since winning the 2023 Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.

Wyoming pieced together a team scoring accomplishment at the Arizona N.I.T., as well. The Cowboys fired a final round 274 (-14), which tied for the fourth-best single-round team score in program history.

On the individual side of things, Panke carved his way into the history books at the Palouse Collegiate en route to a third-place finish. His score of 199 (-14) tied the school record for lowest score in relation to par.

In their final years with the program, Calkins and Davis Seybert had memorable tournaments. Calkins received an invite to play in the Genesis Collegiate Showcase, while Seybert had himself a day at the Falcon Invite, winning the individual crown at 207 (-9).

Wyoming’s future also showed what it can do, especially this spring. Freshman Brody Leid reeled in Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week honors on four different occasions. In addition, he led the squad in scoring four times, including the conference tournament to close the year.

Aside from the performances on the course, Wyoming continued to host a pair of its premier events. The Pokes played host to the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in February in Palm Desert, California, and the Cowboy Classic in April in Maricopa, Arizona.

In the classroom, the Cowboys impressed, yet again. They earned a perfect APR score of 1,000 and are one of five teams at Wyoming who have enjoyed a spotless multi-year APR score of 1,000.

Four Pokes – Azevedo, Panke, Seybert and Damon Vilkauskas – earned CoSIDA Academic All-District. Wyoming, as a team, possessed a team GPA of 3.8, which puts them right in the mix for top team GPA in the country.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
