UW snags three first-place finishes in Boulder on Day 1
BOULDER, Colo., -- The University of Wyoming Track and Field teams wrapped up day one of two at the CU Invitational on Friday afternoon at the University of Colorado.
In a day full of field events three Wyoming student athletes took first in their respective events while, five more placed in the top three.
Giulia Lodi started the day off by picking up the win in the Javelin for the Cowgirls. Lodi’s mark of 134-1 is the best by a Cowgirl this season. Samuel Schneider picked up the win in the High Jump with a mark of 6-5, and Mikey DeRock closed the day out for Wyoming with a win in the Discus. DeRock set a personal best with a throw of 165-0.
Sage Coventry (High Jump), Madison Friend (Pole Vault) and Anissa Warner (High Jump) all placed second while Reece Shannon picked up a third-place finish in the Long Jump.
